Did you know that 82% of people give up on their resolutions after 2 weeks? In my coaching experience and workout journey, I’ve noticed that there are a lot of preconceived ideas about sport that prevent most people from being disciplined in their practice. In an age when social networks promote and highlight a huge amount of sports content, there’s a kind of standard that’s formed, and many people find themselves biased and unmotivated after starting their workout journey. Let’s be honest: being consistent isn’t easy; sporting activity is difficult, a source of suffering and achieving your goals requires sacrifice! However, I believe that by breaking down preconceived ideas and doing things in the right order, it becomes much easier to acquire the discipline required. You are your own worst enemy, and human beings tend to find many excuses to stay in their comfort zone. You’ll always find a good excuse not to train. Most of them come from a lack of education, follow-up or preconceived ideas. It’s time to take action! Let's break some preconcieved ideas
I DON'T HAVE TIME!
10 minutes a day is enough!
My customers often tell me they haven’t had time to train. Please understand that, unless you already have an advanced level of fitness, the right mindset and the motivation behind it, exercising doesn’t take much time at all. Sport is an evolutionary day. In most cases, we can’t claim to want to do 2-hour workouts when we’ve only been training for 2 weeks! It’s totally counter-productive, and you’re likely to end up injured and extremely tired.
It’s absolutely essential to start by creating an adecuate sports routine, which will enable you to maintain it over time!
It’s through this habit that you create the leverage you need to acquire the necessary discipline and ultimately achieve your goals. We all have 15 minutes a day to devote to sporting activity. Be aware that 15 minutes a day equals more than 90 hours a year. We’re all at a different place in our journey, so adapt your routine to what suits you and increase it as your discipline grows.
I personally started by trying to do 1 pull-up. Every day I’d take 10 minutes and try to do my pull-up. 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 3 weeks and I finally succeeded. From that moment on, not only did you have the gratification of having succeeded, but also that of having worked to get there. A routine was established, and to this day I’ve never stopped challenging myself and striving to improve. When the winner effect takes hold, your habit will be virtually unbreakable.

I CAN'T AFFORD IT
This is an excuse I hear constantly.
Unfortunately for you, it’s completely invalid (I know that’s not what you wanted to hear.. I’m sorry). Most physical activities require no investment at all! Running, home workouts, cycling, and so on are available without any expense.
This is also one of the reasons that got me interested in home workouts. No equipment is needed, and you can do it anywhere.
Again, all excuses are acceptable but none are valid. Coupled with the two points above, it should lead you to the simple conclusion that you’re just trying to procrastinate on this good resolution you think you’ve made!

I DON'T SEE ANY RESULTS
Let me tell you this :
You get instant results by workin out, the fact is that you’re just putting your attention at the wrong place! Give a read at the next topic!
Many fitness enthusiasts don’t have a nutrition plan adapted to their objectives.
80% of athletic results come from proper nutrition. Visit the “nutrition” section (here) to discover the basic but essential aspects of a good diet, as well as some of the tips I use.
Sleep is also an important component when it comes to sports results. Sleep allows your body to recover and strengthen itself. Sufficient and appropriate sleep will drastically increase your results; find out more here!
Once again, the most important thing to see results is to be consistent. Develop routines and automatisms that are adapted to you. Diet, sleep and training are the cornerstones of any progress and therefore of achieving the results you want.
DON'T FALL FOR SHINY OBJECTS
Change your perspective!
The practice of bodybuilding, in my opinion, has become biased due to the often excessive focus on visual physical results. It is essential, in my view, that you make it a point to concentrate on the holistic well-being that physical exercise provides! By doing so, not only will you benefit from the immediate results of the practice, but you will also enter a virtuous circle that will make it much easier to develop a habit!
If you can pay attention to what physical exercise provides you from a holistic perspective rather than a visual one, your life will change more easily, quickly, and allow you to achieve your long-term visual goals.
In modern society, the practice of physical exercise, especially fitness and bodybuilding, has undergone a significant transformation. Once perceived as a quest for well-being and health, this discipline has slowly evolved into a cult of image, emphasizing visual results at the expense of its true benefits. However, this distorted view obscures the real treasure within bodybuilding: the internal experience.
It is undeniable that the enthusiasm for bodybuilding has reached new heights, fueled by the influence of social media and prevailing aesthetic standards. Images of sculpted and muscular bodies flood our screens, creating a social pressure that encourages many enthusiasts to focus their practice on purely visual goals. Gyms thus transform into temples dedicated to physical appearance, where the pursuit of the perfect body takes precedence over the search for overall well-being.
Yet, this deviation from fitness obscures the real treasure within bodybuilding: the physical and mental experience. Beyond reflective mirrors and post-workout selfies, the inner experience is the true wealth that this discipline provides. Bodybuilding offers more than developed biceps or defined abs; it allows a deep connection with one’s own body.
The real advantage of bodybuilding lies in the feeling of strength emerging from within, in the confidence gained through sessions, and in the resilience built through overcome challenges. It promotes mental health by releasing endorphins, reducing stress, and improving sleep quality. Instead of exclusively focusing on physical appearance, bodybuilding should be celebrated for its holistic benefits.
It is crucial to demystify the preconceived notion that bodybuilding is exclusively focused on body image. The media, influencers, and even advertisements have a role to play in restoring balance by highlighting the multiple positive aspects of this discipline. Rather than creating undue pressure around appearance, it is time to refocus the conversation on overall health and well-being that bodybuilding can bring.
In conclusion, bodybuilding, distorted into a cult of image, must rediscover its true essence centered on the internal experience. Instead of conforming to societal aesthetic standards, it is time to rediscover the intrinsic richness of this practice, capable of transforming not only the body but also the mind. The quest for a healthy and balanced body should not be overshadowed by superficial goals but should be celebrated for the lasting benefits it offers to all who practice it with intention and authenticity.
FITNESS ISN'T FOR ME
There’s way more to sport than fitness.
These days, fitness is the most widely practised sporting activity, and too many people see fitness as the only solution when it comes to physical activity.
This is totally inaccurate. We’re all different, so it’s only natural that fitness isn’t for everyone.Once again, you need to find your own recipe; the one that suits you and enables you to create a fitness habit.
Basically, there’s no one sport that’s better than another. If fitness isn’t for you, do something that’s right for you and resonates with you!
I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START
You’re always just one decision away!
Lack of knowledge is a huge brake, often leading people to give up before they’ve even started.
Although, once again, I think this is mainly an excuse, given all the content currently available on the Internet. However, I can well understand how people can feel lost in the midst of this mass of information, which varies enormously depending on the information given.
Here again, there’s no single best recipe available on the Internet. It’s important to bear in mind that the information available on the Internet can provide you with the leads and motivation you need to get started. Eventually, as you train and develop a routine, you’ll be in a position to listen to your body and know what’s best for you.
If you need support and guidance, several training plans and nutritional concepts are available and totally free on this website. My training method is completely free and downloadable just above, feel free to check it out. The same goes for my nutrition eBook. Don’t miss out on these essential resources.
